BEIGE WALLS & NAVY SOFAS
BEIGE WALLS & NAVY SOFAS (BW&NS) is a solo-storytelling piece written and performed by Courtney McMahon. The piece explores Courtney’s childhood memories of her Mother becoming a Foster carer & her relationship with Foster sister ‘Jess’. The show introduces Foster care from the perspective of a Fostering family, shedding light on sisterhood, isolation & dealing with separation at a young age.

"Loss is something that is overlooked in our perceptions of the care system in all different ways, and this show gives a platform to that. It also made me realise though, that even when those connected to foster care will have very similar experiences in some ways, we can never expect to know someone’s own unique pathways of loss."
